The organization has called for a swift and impartial investigation into the incident.

On the morning of August 22, residents and commuters along Tubman Boulevard were disrupted by confrontations between police forces and CDC supporters, which halted business and movement for several hours.

At a news conference held on August 23, 2024, in Monrovia, Speaker Daniel Nills of the Mano River Union Youth Parliament Liberia Chapter urged peace-building institutions, including the Peace Building Office, UNDP, the Carter Center, USAID, Mercy Corps, the Swedish Embassy, CRS, Messengers of Peace, Young Ambassadors of Peace, and the Inter-Religious Council, to facilitate a national dialogue focused on reconciliation.

Speaker Nills emphasized the importance of maintaining peace during protests, highlighting that peaceful demonstrations are a cornerstone of democracy. He also warned Liberian youth against being manipulated by politicians, stressing that national peace is a collective responsibility.

Furthermore, Speaker Nills challenged the youth to actively participate in policy discussions with the national government regarding issues such as youth involvement in governance, quality education, employment opportunities, and drug abuse prevention.
