Liberia: GOL, MOCI, made available 575 (25kg) bags of Rice to LNP and AFL

The Liberian Government, through the ministry of commerce and industry has presented 575(25kg) bag of rice to the Liberia National police and the Armed forces of Liberia.

The LNP received 225 bags while the AFL received 350 bags. The rice was made available by the importers association as part of its corporate social responsibility to the Government of Liberia.

Remarking on behalf of the Liberian Government, Commerce and Industry minister Amin Modad said the donation was as a result of his constant engagements with relevant partners in the sector as part of efforts aimed at strengthening collaboration for the common good of Liberians.

Minister Modad added that the initiative will affect several agencies noting that the Commerce ministry saw it befitting to begin with the Liberia National police and the Armed forces of Liberia.

He said the initiative is part of President Joseph Nyuma Boakai’s agenda of poverty relief and a key component of the President 100days deliverables.

For his part, Information Minister Jerolinmek Piah welcomed the gesture stating that such initiative serves as motivation to security apparatus in continuation of services to the country.

The information minister however lauded minister Modad, cautioning him to extend the initiative to institutions in need.

Also remarking, Liberia National police inspector General Gregory Coleman described the donation as timely noting the that the rice would be dispatched to LNP officers assigned in rural Liberia as a sign of encouragement for their sacrifices to the nation.

The Police Chief has committed to ensuring that under his stewardship, officers of the LNP will be motivated to do serve the state happily.

Meanwhile, the Chief of Staff of the Armed forces of Liberia Davidson Forleh expressed gratitude to Minister Modad on selecting the AFL as a beneficiary of the donation.

The Army COS stressed the significance of the gesture, recommending that it’s done periodically to empower servicemen.
