Nimba County District #7 Representative Musa Bility has made it clear: he will not accept to be vice president to anyone in the 2029 elections. He says because he is the political leader of his own party, the CMC, being a running mate is below him — he only wants to run for president.

Speaking on OK FM on Monday, September 7, 2026, Bility said: “I reject that. I will not be a running mate to any political party. It is unacceptable. I am the political leader of the CMC.”

He announced that he will contest the presidency himself, claiming the Citizens Movement for Change is ready to lead Liberia.

Bility also attacked the Boakai-Koung administration, accusing it of failing to fight drugs in the country. “The Government has done nothing against drugs in Liberia,” he said.

The Nimba lawmaker added that he supports a united opposition for 2029, but analysts say his strong stance could make it hard for opposition parties to agree on alliances, setting the stage for a crowded presidential race.
