By Monrovia, Liberia- Unity Party on August 24, 2023 launched a rally intended to pay and accomode poll watchers as a means of protecting the votes of it members during election periods.
The ceremony which brought together thousands of Supporters and partisans of JNB and JKK presidential ticket was held at the Rescue Mission Center in district nine Sinkor, airfield community.
Serving as the chief launcher for the “Protect Your Votes Rally” was Montserrado County and a member of the strategic campaign team Abraham Darius Dillion who donated an amount of Three hundred fifty thousand Liberian Dollars as initial contribution followed by other high profile personalities in the Unity Party.
Senator Dillon maintained that the ongoing rally is aim at generating over two million United States Dollars take care of workers welfare on election day.”The fund raising is open to all sympathizers, friends, supporters, and partisans of the UP until September 2023″ He asserted.
Also speaking at the occasion was the UP national Campaign Manager Prince Moye who added that the campaign team is doing everything possible across the country to have the Weah’s administration replaced come October.He furthered that president Weah as an incumbent will only rage election if citizens give him competitive number of Votes, therefore he should be rejected massively.”Before Weah steals election here, he needs ground to stand on, therefore don’t give him ground” Senator Moye noted.
Meanwhile, NPP chairman and Senator of Maryland county James Biney called on the NEC Chairperson to endorse this year election results per electoral district inorder to avoid complication in results pronouncement.
According to him, NEC should announce the election results per county and not to have them jointly combined at it has been practice over the time.
“As part of transparency, We want any presidents contesting in this country to know how mush vote they obtained in each district across the country.” he said.
