Neglected Boakai Campaigner “Mr. Thank You Very Much” Turns to Critic Yekeh Kolubah for Medical Bills

Monrovia – Montserrado District #10 Representative Yekeh Kolubah has provided US$640 for medical treatment to Abraham Varney Kollie, popularly known as “Mr. Thank You Very Much” – a once vocal supporter of the Boakai-led government who now says he has been abandoned.

The donation has stirred political conversation, highlighting claims of neglect against the very administration Kollie campaigned for.

Kollie, who became known for his viral praise for President Joseph Boakai during the 2023 elections, said he has been left to struggle after the Unity Party took power. He accused President Boakai, Vice President Jeremiah Koung, and Senate Pro Tempore Nyonblee Karnga-Lawrence of turning their backs on him.

According to him, the only benefits he received from the government were a garri-processing machine and a motorcycle. He stated that the late Hon. Sylvester Grigsby was the only official in the current administration who gave him direct financial support, amounting to US$1,200.

Kollie also denied claims that he received US$420 from the opposition Congress for Democratic Change (CDC), clarifying that he only received US$60 from a supporter in the United States via Sendwave and another US$60 from former District #8 Representative Moses Acarous Gray.

In contrast, he has now received US$640 from Hon. Kolubah, a fierce critic of the Boakai government and political leader of the National Movement to Liberate Liberia from Criminals and Crooks.

After receiving the support, Kollie expressed gratitude to Kolubah and pledged to support Kolubah’s presidential ambition in 2029 – a political switch that underscores his growing disillusionment with the current administration.

The development raises questions about how campaign surrogates and grassroots supporters are treated after elections, and whether political loyalty translates into social protection.
