Monrovia, Liberia- Anonymous Source Closed to President-Elect Joseph N. Boakai has hints that the Incoming Liberian Leader has embarked on actions intended to hijack the Speakership in the interest of his Party.
As part of his calculated motive, Amb. Boakai has begun threatening lawmakers that if they don’t vote Representative Richard Koon as speaker, they will never have the opportunity to see him and at the same time promising to grant more opportunities for those who will adhere to his will. One of the assurances he pointed out is to approve their hand-picked individual as Commissioner in their respective districts.
The President-Elect cited several members of the incoming 55th Legislature at his home at about 4pm Tuesday January 9, 2024 to threaten and impose his will on them. our sources disclosed
The Race for the 55th Legislature Speakership is said to be between Former Deputy Speaker J. Fonati Koffa of the outgoing CDC government and Montserrado District 11 Representative Richard N. Koon of the Unity Party.
The involvement of the President-Elect is aimed at softening the grounds for his presidential operations further appearing to be a hypothesis of organization of an imperial Presidency.
