Monrovia — In the wake of the Supreme Court’s ruling on the leadership dispute in the House of Representatives, the Liberian government is urging lawmakers to set aside political wrangling and refocus on national priorities.

Information Minister Jerolimek Matthew Piah, speaking at a regular press briefing, said the prolonged standoff threatens to derail the Boakai administration’s development agenda and erode public trust. “This internal dispute could undermine our progress,” Piah warned.

He called on legislators to respect the Court’s decision and embrace dialogue, noting that the government is working with stakeholders like the Traditional Council to find a peaceful path forward.

Piah emphasized that national recovery demands unity and sacrifice, urging lawmakers to honor their constitutional duties. “Service above self,” he reminded them.

The government also praised those lawmakers who have recommitted to their legislative roles and expressed hope that the House will soon get back to business, advancing the ARREST Agenda for inclusive growth.
