Monrovia, Liberia – The Sethi Brothers Company in Liberia has received a acclaim for its prompt response to the fire that broke out at the Capitol Building, home to the Liberian Legislature, on Wednesday, December 18, 2024.
The fire, which posed a serious threat to the Joint Chambers of the historic legislative complex, was quickly contained thanks to the swift intervention of the company’s fire truck. This effort, combined with support from the Liberia National Fire Service, the Liberia Petroleum Refining Company (LPRC), and the Liberia Water and Sewer Corporation (LWSC) water tankers, ensured sufficient water supply to combat the flames effectively.
The timely response by the Sethi Brothers played a pivotal role in preventing extensive damage to the national Legislature.
Eyewitnesses, including employees and visitors at the scene, commended the professionalism demonstrated by the Sethi Brothers team. Mr. Centric Ilunga, the team leader, sustained minor injuries while coordinating the operation but reaffirmed their dedication to public safety.
“We are grateful for the steadfast support the Sethi Brothers continue to provide to the government and people of Liberia,” remarked an employee who witnessed the incident. “Their actions prove they are true partners in the nation’s progress.”
The Liberia National Fire Service, LPRC, and LWSC also played key roles in ensuring the fire was controlled with minimal damage. A spokesperson for the legislative staff expressed gratitude for the collective efforts.
“We deeply appreciate the professionalism and collaboration shown during this critical moment,” the spokesperson stated. “This incident highlights the high standards of service and commitment to our country.”
Though the fire caused initial panic among workers and visitors, the coordinated response from all involved prevented a major disaster.
The Sethi Brothers, already recognized for their contributions to Liberia’s development, have further cemented their reputation as trusted allies in both business and community support.
