By Monrovia– National Fire Service in Collective efforts with Orange Liberia, Arcelor Mittal, Liberia Electricity Coorporation, National Port Authority NPA, Liberia Airport Authority – LAA Fire Departments has Launched a Fire Prevention Awareness in commemoration of the international fire fighter day slitted for may 4, 2024.
The activity held under the theme “FIRE PREVENTION STARTS WITH YOU” brought together representative of various collaborative partners, international guests, student community as well as residents of Transformer Community in Old Road District Ten Montserrado County.
As part of the awareness, the team is expected to engage every part of Liberia in educating citizens on the use of fire related items.
Asserting the purpose of the awareness was the director of the Liberia National Fire Service Mr. G. Warsuwah Barvoul Sr. who sensitized community dwellers on the causes of fire outbreak and its effects, prevention, as well as demonstrating the importance of fire extinguishers at homes.The awareness of fire prevention also comes in the wake of continues fire disaster across Monrovia and its environ, causing the lose of lives and damage of properties.
Mr. Gorcon Mowel, a Liberian based in the US and an expert of fire service served as the chief launcher of the 2024, fire prevention public awareness, urging Liberians to adhere to preventive measures from the fire service sector so as to save lives and properties. He maintained that the fight to prevent occurrence of fire disaster requests collective efforts from the community.
Mr. Mowel reaffirmed his continues support towards the LNFS Sector.
In continuation of their unwavering support, He vowed to help the Liberia fire service becomes respected amid their crucial role in the society.
“our been here in Liberia is to ensure that we can enhance the great work that the fire department is doing in Liberia.” he maintained.
