Nearly 4,300 Struggling Liberian Refugees in Ghana to Return Home Amid Buduburam Camp Destruction

Ghana– On Monday, May 12, 2024, a delegation from the Liberian government, led by the Liberia Refugee Repatriation and Resettlement Commission, landed in Ghana.

The mission, which included of delegates from important ministries like Gender, Foreign Affairs, Information, and Broadcasting, would spend three days completing arrangements before returning with the stranded Liberians to their country of origin.

In the meantime, Patrick Worzie, Executive Director of LRRRC, stressed the significance of this repatriation endeavor and the chance it presents for Liberians to start over and advance their country. The Ghanaian people and government were also thanked by the LRRRC Boss for their assistance during the process.

The government of Ivory Coast was also commended for enabling the safe crossing of Liberian refugees over their borders.
