During the 2017 elections, Costa ran for a representative seat in Montserrado County but was defeated. Speculation that he might be a running mate for Boakai was extinguished when Boakai chose Senator Jeremiah Kpang Kung. Costa’s endorsement is expected to boost Weah’s campaign, given his status as a prominent political commentator. As Liberia’s second-round election approaches, the political landscape has undergone a significant transformation, and all eyes are on the implications of this unexpected alliance.
