Road User Permit for Western Cluster suspended; Ministry of Public Works; Threatens to End the Contract after six months if the Violations continues

Monrovia, Liberia, The Ministry of Public Works has suspended the Road User Permit (RUP – 220620-004) for Western Cluster Limited (WCL) for violating the terms of the permit. The company used trucks longer than permitted, carried an axel load of 40 tons, and trucked iron ore throughout the day and night, contrary to the permit’s limit of 7PM to 6AM.

The Ministry of Public Works has charged Western Cluster with non-compliance with Section III (A) of the Permit, citing the company’s failure to erect and install weigh bridges, and its failure to maintain and repair the road corridor.

The Works Ministry has suspended Western Cluster’s Road User Permit due to violations, a decision that was lifted after WCL assured the Ministry of curing the violations. The Ministry has now decided to terminate the permit if Western Cluster fails to cure the violations within 60 days.
