Capitol Hill, Monrovia – Officer Siafa Kamara, a Legislative security, serving as duty commander has been arrested and placed behind bars at the LNP as a prime suspect in the ongoing investigation regarding burglary at the seat of the Liberian Legislatures. The arrest comes hours after Gbarpolu County Senator Amara Konneh announced the burglary of his Capitol Building Office by some unknown individuals over the weekend.
Senator Konneh broke silence regarding the unfortunate situation early Monday May 27, 2024, naming several valuables and documents that went missing. According to him, the burglars entered through the back window, ransacked the office, and made away with documents related to the MedTech investigation, a log of compensation and gasoline benefits my staff and I have received since February, and LD$10,000 petty cash for staff lunch.
The Legislator in a Facebook post explained that two other Senators’ offices were also affected by the burglary. However he didn’t disclosed the name of the Lawmakers that felt victim to the circumstances. He expressed concern over the safety of he and his office staffs as well as creating awareness against reoccurrence.
