Morning Story: Former Liberia Chief Justice and Three others Guilty of Charlotte Musu murder Trial

Monrovia, Liberia–In the Case of Charlotte Musu’s death, Former Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Liberia madam Gloria Musu Scott and three other have been found guilty.The final guilty verdict comes on December 21, 2023 after a legal argument from both the defense and the Prosecution.

However, the proceeding from the angle of Jurors revealed that eleven out of twelve man jurors testified that the Chief Justice, Alice Johnson, Rebecca Youdeh and Gertrude Newton Wisner are culpable of the act.

Crimes include Murder, Criminal Conspiracy, and raising a false alarm to Law Enforcement.

The Charged Sheet from Criminal Court A States that, The defendant’s actions violated Title 26, chapter 14, section 14.1; Chapter 10, section 10.4; and Chapter 12, section 12.33 of the new penal law of Liberia.

It all started on 22nd of February 2023, Cllr. Musu Scott, and her partners in crimes raised themselves with a sharp instrument believed to be a knife and pepper spray with criminal intent.” They killed Charlotte Musu by deliberately inflicting multiple injuries on her, including those to her chest, right hand, left leg, and left armpit.

Following the Guilty verdict from the Criminal court A, the defense group immediately took an appeal to the Supreme Court.
