Monrovia, Liberia – Front Page Africa, one of Liberia’s leading newspaper, in its Tuesday May 21, 2024 edition, published an article linking the Central Bank of Liberia Deputy Governor Nyemadi Nyems Pearson to an unauthorized disbursement citing a draft Audit report believed to be from the General Auditing Commission.

The article stated that the then deputy Governor Pearson was the head of the Central Bank of Liberia when the CBL reportedly made payments to the LNP, NSA and the Ministry of State without any form of due process, quoting the GAC.

However, an independent investigation staged by The People News Online backed by substantive documents and evidence revealed that there were huge irregularities in the article published by Front Page Africa.

What Are The Facts?
Following a meticulous probe by The People News Online, it has been established and verified that the Governor of CBL, Nathaniel Patry authorized the payments of said funds and not Governor Nyemadi Nyems Pearson as reported by Front Page Africa.

The investigation also unearthed that the funds were disbursed in accordance with financial laws governing the bank.

“”You are by this Communication Authorized to make payments of US$80,000.00 to the following account: 0220630006000 for special security operation regarding highly sensitive security matter affecting the CBL”Except of documents of Authorization under the signature of Nathaniel Patray III., reads in part.

Evidence provided also unveiled that the former CBL Boss Patray also did same with the Liberia National Police, through the means of disbursing US$200,000.00 for July 26, 2019 celebrations contrary to the Tuesday May 21, 2024 publication of Front Page Africa.
