Monrovia, Liberia – The National Port Authority have presented Two (2) million united states Dollars into Government revenue account, that’s according to NPA Managing Director Sekou Dukuly.
Speaking at the Ministry of information cultural Affairs and Tourism regular press briefing on Tuesday June 25, 2024 the National Port authority managing Director said the monies were collected within five months of his Stewardship at the entity.
Director Dukuly stated that the capital was accumulated from taxes collected from Business partners that are within the Port’s vicinity and taxes that have been subtracted from employees salaries for over the past Five months.
The NPA managing Director informed Reporters that Ships are currently dogging regularly at night due to the Electrification of the port.
He revailed that the National Port authority have upgraded their access passes which also enable them to generate additional revenue and prevent unauthorized entry to the port.
He at the same time refuted allegations of illegal dismissal at the National Port authority stating that employees were only sent to Human Resource manager for reassignment following the credentials audit that were carryout.
Meanwhile, Director Dukuly has condemned the brutal attacks on one of the employees of the entity in Grand Bassa county as appropriate actions will be taken following the investigation.
