By Three goals from rebirth Christopher Jackson saw league Champions LISCR FC come from a goal down to hammered Watanga FC 4-2 in the Liberia Football Association Men’s Super Cup.
A lively Wednesday evening at the ATS saw the two teams licking their wounds following last weekends continental exit. And what was needed to restore supporter confidence was what at stake.
It took Watanga half hour to go in front as young Emmanuel Sieh scored an injury prone goal to put the league runners up ahead in the 30th minute. His goal however lasted only nine minutes as Christoper Jackson struck from inside the box on 39 minutes to level for LISCR.
Jackson doubled his tally and put LISCR ahead in the 62 minute before completing his hat trick on 77 minutes with a superb finish after stretching to beat goal keeper Teddy Kollie to slot into the empty net.
Watanga pull one back in the 84 minute; thanks to a smooth run from Varney Sando to set up Substitute Adam Kongoiah to reduce the tally 3-2.
Daniel Toe however added the icing on the cake to slot home 18 yards out to make it 4-2, two minute into added time.
Looking ahead of the coming season the LISCR FC coach Sam Chebli said “ we just have to keep our random and take one game at a time . We want to keep our trophy”.
Building up to new season, the odds seems dismal for Cooper Sannah and his Watanga team. They have conceded 11 goals in just three matches and manage to score four times.
The results have place doubt in the minds of the supporters ahead of the new season that a their side will put a challenge for the tittle . But Coach Sannah maintains that “ we have to explain to them the importance of the game that it is normal teams can struggle “.
He explain that; the most important part is that they would come back with a good performance and result at close of the season.
