By Monrovia, Liberia_Workers of the East international construction company have expressed disinfectant regarding their welfare by the Company amid the ongoing construction of the RIA road.
Speaking to The People News Online Workers who prefer not to be named expressed that their welfare is not been prioritize including the provisions of safety working gears, Low Salary and salary delay.
We inhaling dust from this road that are not good for our health because we are not protected.
They highlighted labour exploration on the over all as issues thay face as unskilled workers working with their Chinese supervisors.
“The Chinese we working with only respect the work we do but not our protection and welfare” they expressed
Sources further disclosed to reporters that they work over eight hours a day and and end $700LRD “which is very little and doesn’t come on time”
They added that issues of such expression often leads to there dismissal without pay by their heads on ground that they are not contractors with documents.
The workers used in this vent calls on the labour division of the labour ministry to keenly consider their matter as Liberians seeking for survival.
EAST International is a Construction Company charge with the responsibility to pave the Road between Roberts International Airport and Monrovia through an agreement signed with the ministry of Public Works.
