By Monrovia, Liberia: The warning was made by the parliamentarians on Tuesday when the Ministry of Finance and the Liberia Revenue Authority appeared to explain why certain parts of the government had not been getting the funding they required to operate.
Speaker of the House Fonati Koffa noted during the two institutions’ appearance that it is disrespectful for the Ministry of Finance and Development Planning to have ignored the advantages of that august body’s members for the previous three months.
He claims that because of the circumstances, HOR members have gone so far as to hire money exchangers to perform tasks for the Liberian people. Speaker Koffa added that for the last three weeks, the circumstance has prevented members of the House of Representatives from reporting to work.
