Court Indicts Two MCSS Officials on Money Laundering and Bribery Charges

MONROVIA — The Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission (LACC) has announced that the First Judicial Circuit, Criminal Court “C” for Montserrado County has issued an indictment writ of arrest against two officials of the Monrovia Consolidated School System (MCSS) over alleged financial crimes.

According to a media and citizen alert issued by the LACC, the writ of arrest was issued on December 30, 2025, following an indictment prepared by a duly selected, empanelled, and sworn grand jury.

The defendants named in the indictment are Mr. Kabineh Keita, an insurance broker of the MCSS, and Madam Sontia Dangan, Director for Curriculum Development and Instruction at the MCSS.

Charges Filed

The two defendants are charged with several criminal offenses, including:

  • Money Laundering;
  • Bribery; and
  • Criminal Conspiracy.

The LACC disclosed that both individuals have already been arrested and are currently under the jurisdiction of Criminal Court “C,” First Judicial Circuit, Montserrado County, in line with due process of law.

LACC Assures Due Process

The Commission stated that it is working closely with the court to ensure that the defendants are accorded a speedy, fair, and transparent trial.

Reaffirming its commitment to accountability, the LACC urged the public and media institutions to refrain from speculation or interference, emphasizing that the judicial process must be allowed to take its full course.

The Commission further reiterated its mandate to promote transparency, accountability, and the rule of law as part of Liberia’s broader anti-corruption efforts.
