CDC SG Jefferson Koijee Denies U.S Treasury Department Reports Against him Over Allegations of Human Rights Abuses and Corruption

Monrovia, Liberia- Monrovia City Mayor and Security General of the Out going CDC has ferociously refused United States allegations branding him as Human Rights Violator and Corrupt actor.

Addressing Scores of citizens at the Center for the Exchange of Intellectual Opinion on the Carey Street in Monrovia at the start of the week, the CDC Secretary General asserted that the Visa Restriction against him came as a result of mare propaganda.

He went on to say that he and other CDC employees are the targets of persistent, malevolent disinformation that has evolved to what is referred to as a sanctions. “CDC employees are once again being urged to maintain composure and abstain from taking unapproved action” he added.

The Monrovia law enforcement head furthered used the gathering to question the intent of the US Government’s actions against him, maintaining that the restriction might not work if it’s intended to intimidate him.

On December 8, 2023 the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control designated Jefferson Koijee, who is the Mayor of Monrovia, for being responsible for or complicit in serious human rights abuse and for being a current government official responsible for or complicit in engaging in corruption, including the misappropriation of state assets.
