Totota, Bong County–President Elect Joseph Nyuma Boakai has presented ten million Liberian dollars (10,000,000) and donated 200 bags of (25kg) rice to Families of the Totota Tanker Explosions incident in Salala district Bong County.
The Liberia Newly Elected President making remarks during the church service in Totota said his visit is to demonstrate empathy which reflects commitment to the well-being and safety of the citizens, and at the same time call For Investigation In The Totota Gas Tanker Explosion.
Amb. Boakai’s visit offered condolences to the bereaved families of the Toyota Tanker Explosions incident.
The Unity party Standard Berear visit the accident site to express support and prayer for the recovery of other victims who are seeking treatment at various hospitals across the country.
The President Elect visit was therefore in continuation of the gravity of the tragic incident that claimed the lives of at least sixty persons and the profound impact it has on the affected families and Liberia at large.
He at the same time participated in a church service where he had engagements with local authorities, emergency responders, and community leaders during his special visit at the Totota Gas tanker explosion scene.
“He mantain that his visit to Salala district is to console the people of Toyota as he feel hurt for the citizens of the area and stand with the people of the affected families.
He further indicated that his visit underscores dedication to fostering a sense of national unity and healing during challenging times.
Boakai furthermore emphasized the importance of basic education of citizens for safety, self-awareness and protection in emergency situations.
Meanwhile, President elect Boakai urged state security to conduct a comprehensive investigation on the cause of such tragedy with relevant recommendations on preventive measures.
