Nimba County Senator Samuel G. Kogar has accused the Boakai-Kounge administration of backing a plot to remove him from the Movement for Democracy and Reconstruction (MDR) without due process.
In a statement issued on Saturday, August 29, 2026, Senator Kogar raised alarm over what he described as a heavy police presence at the MDR headquarters, saying it raises serious concerns and gives the appearance of an attempt to intimidate and silence legitimate political expression.
According to him, Liberia is a country governed by law, warning that any action taken against him outside the proper legal and constitutional process will be challenged through appropriate legal means.
The Nimba County Senator is calling on the international community to closely follow what is currently transpiring at the MDR Party Headquarters in Congo Town, Monrovia.
He also called on the Liberian people, civil society, and the media to pay close attention to developments at the party headquarters.
Senator Kogar reaffirmed his commitment to peace, the rule of law, and the democratic process.
