Monrovia, Liberia – In a significant development, the National Elections Commission (NEC) of Liberia has officially confirmed the arrival of crucial ballot papers and election materials for the eagerly anticipated October 10, 2023, Presidential and General Elections. During a press briefing held at the NEC headquarters, Chairperson Madam Davidetta Browne Lansanah announced that the ballots and associated materials arrived on the night of Monday, January 25, 2023. Notably, these vital documents were transported from Ghana via a private plane, landing at the Robert International Airport. The ballots have been categorized into Presidential, Senatorial, and Representative ballots, with substantial quantities prepared to facilitate the electoral process.
Madam Davidetta Browne Lansanah provided specific figures for the ballot quantities: a total of 3,320,500 Presidential ballots, 3,402,122 Senatorial ballots, and 3,403,208 Representative ballots. The NEC has ensured the secure storage of these essential materials under the protection of state security forces. In the coming days, preparations will shift toward the deployment of ballot papers and other sensitive election materials to the 2,080 polling precincts located across the nation.
