By Monrovia– UNFPA Resident Representative, Ms. Bidisha Pillai, has underscored the critical importance of increased youthful awareness, enhanced peace and security, and the establishment of a multi-stakeholder platform as key elements for Liberia’s national growth.
In a recent address, Pillai commended the rising engagement of young people in the country, particularly young women, in driving positive change and development.
She highlighted the need to empower and involve youth in decision-making processes to ensure sustainable progress and inclusive development.
Pillai also emphasized the significance of advancing peace and security in Liberia, emphasizing that a stable and peaceful environment is essential for growth and prosperity.
She called for continued efforts to strengthen peacebuilding initiatives and conflict prevention strategies to sustain the country’s peace dividends.
Furthermore, the establishment of a multi-stakeholder platform was identified by Pillai as a crucial mechanism for fostering dialogue, collaboration, and collective action among various actors to address Liberia’s challenges holistically.
Pillai’s insights shed light on the critical pillars that will drive Liberia’s growth and development in the coming years.
