Monrovia, Liberia – President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr. has expressed profound sorrow following the death of Honorable Sumo G. Kupee, former Senator of Lofa County. In a statement from the Executive Mansion, the President extended his heartfelt condolences to Senator Kupee’s family, friends, and colleagues.

Senator Kupee, remembered as a dedicated public servant, was known for his unwavering commitment to the people of Lofa County and Liberia at large. Throughout his tenure in the Senate, he was a staunch advocate for significant legislative issues, including dual citizenship and the rights of Liberians living abroad to participate in elections through out-of-country voting.
President Boakai highlighted Senator Kupee’s tireless efforts in promoting development and progress, noting that his legacy will continue to inspire future generations committed to public service.
