By Breaking: In the midst of numerous criticism sparking public debates about source and chief financiers behind the purchase of the equipment, the first Consignment of president Boakai’s Controversial 285 Earthmoving machines have arrived in the country through the Freeport of Monrovia.
According to reports, the first hundred yellow machines arrived at the Freeport of Monrovia few hours ago.
The news of the controversial yellow machines broke out on may 24, 2024, during the president’s cabinet retreat when Minister of State Without Portfolio, Mamaka Bility announced that the government of Liberia was bringing in 285 machine for the construction of roads inorder to address the deplorable road conditions in the country.
Minister Bility pronounced that nineteen of the machines are to be assign to each county.
The pronouncement sparked mixed public reactions, raising concerns of how it was acquired.
Meanwhile, until the arrival of the first consignment, the government of Liberia has yet to make an official statement regarding the arrival of the equipment and how they were acquired.
