Monrovia, Liberia – The Liberia National Police (LNP) has officially charged and forwarded to court a notorious robbery suspect identified as Lassannah Kromah, commonly known as “LASO”, on multiple criminal offenses including armed robbery, criminal conspiracy, criminal facilitation, aiding consummation of crime, theft of property, and fraud.
According to an official LNP statement, the suspect’s prosecution follows his October 17, 2025 arrest during a major anti-robbery operation in Montserrado County. During the raid, police reportedly recovered seventeen (17) stolen motorbikes** from LASO’s residence — believed to be linked to a wider theft and resale network operating in the area.
Preliminary investigations, the LNP said, uncovered a well-coordinated criminal scheme in which LASO allegedly purchased stolen motorcycles, generated fake sales receipts, and then sold them to unsuspecting buyers under the false pretense of operating a legitimate business.
Police sources describe LASO as a key player in an organized theft syndicate that has been terrorizing commercial motorbike owners and operators across Monrovia and its suburbs.
The LNP has urged all victims of motorbike theft to come forward with proof of ownership to reclaim their property as investigations continue. The police also warned members of the public to avoid buying stolen goods, stressing that those found in possession of such items could face arrest and prosecution under Liberian law.
“The Liberia National Police remains firm in its commitment to dismantle criminal networks and ensure that perpetrators face the full weight of the law,” the release added.
LASO is expected to make his initial court appearance this week as authorities intensify efforts to recover additional stolen motorcycles and bring all accomplices to justice.
