Judge Feika Grants Ex-VP Taylor Compassionate Release, Orders House Arrest

Monrovia — Criminal Court “C” Judge Ousman Feika has granted former Vice President Jewel Howard-Taylor compassionate release, ordering her to remain under house arrest.

The decision followed a hearing Friday on Taylor’s request for compassionate leave. The court stressed the release is not an acquittal — her criminal case remains active and pending.

Background: Taylor was earlier forwarded to Criminal Court “C” after a preliminary examination at the Monrovia City Court, where police linked her to an alleged transnational drug network. She has pleaded not guilty to all charges.
