Monrovia – Liberia’s exam season is scaling up, with 57,391 students from 1,126 schools registered to sit this year’s West African Senior School Certificate Examination, according to WAEC’s Liberia office.

Head of WAEC Liberia, Dale Gbotoe, confirmed the figures while outlining final preparations for the regional test. The number reflects a broad turnout across the country’s secondary schools.

In a notable expansion, two schools in neighboring Guinea will also write the exam under Liberia’s WAEC system. Gbotoe said the institutions qualify because they currently follow Liberia’s curriculum, making them eligible to test through the Liberian branch.

The move underscores Liberia’s growing role as an exam hub for students beyond its borders.
