FREDERICK, Md. — A 31-year-old Monrovia resident is being held in Maryland after a cyber tip triggered a child pornography investigation that ended with his arrest last week, authorities said.
The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office said detectives with the Internet Crimes Against Children Unit opened the case following a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. The lead directed investigators to Joshua Oneal, of Linganore Woods Drive.
On April 23, authorities executed a search warrant at Oneal’s home and seized several electronic devices. He was taken into custody and booked into the Frederick County Adult Detention Center.
Oneal now faces three counts of creating child pornography images and two counts of possession, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
