Monrovia, Liberia –The Liberia National Police (LNP) has dismissed an officer and suspended two others following serious allegations of Duping invertors.

During a press briefing, Inspector General (IGP) Coleman revealed shocking details from an incident that occurred on October 12, 2024. Patrolmen Augustine Ben and Sansee C. Massaquoi unlawfully entered the hotel room of two Vietnamese businessmen, Nguyah Dean and Levan Tu, at a luxury hotel in Thinkers Village. The officers allegedly arrested the businessmen without probable cause and confiscated $24,000 before taking them to police headquarters.

The dismissed officer, Massaquoi, has a history of misconduct, having been under suspension since 2018 for theft. Assistant Commissioner of Police Sam Gballah, who allegedly intimidated the detained businessmen, has also been interdicted as the case unfolds.

IGP Coleman emphasized the LNP’s commitment to accountability, stating that such behavior will not be tolerated. The Professional Standards Division is now investigating the matter, ensuring that justice prevails.

This incident raises questions about police integrity in Liberia, but the LNP’s swift actions may signal a new era of accountability within the force.
