Monrovia, Liberia — The U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM) has confirmed that Liberia will host the 2025 West Africa Logistics Conference (WALC) for the first time. The event marks a significant step forward in strengthening regional logistics cooperation and operational readiness across West Africa.
“I am thrilled to announce this significant milestone in our ongoing efforts to enhance collaboration and logistics capabilities in the region,” said the AFRICOM Director of Logistics. “Liberia’s selection as host highlights its increasing role in regional security and its commitment to stability and partnership.”
Set to build on the momentum of the 2024 conference held in Cameroon, the 2025 WALC will bring together military and civilian leaders to address shared logistical challenges and foster greater interoperability among West African partners.
Key themes of the conference will include improving supply chain security, aligning logistics strategies, harmonizing doctrines, and promoting sustainable procurement practices. Special focus will be placed on empowering African partners and expanding the region’s logistics network to improve responsiveness during crises and humanitarian missions.
“Logistics remains the backbone of all operations, and is especially critical across the vast African landscape,” the AFRICOM logistics chief emphasized.
The upcoming conference will feature a range of partner-led discussions, expert panels, and knowledge exchanges aimed at strengthening cooperation and sharing best practices. Organizers anticipate a strong turnout from regional defense officials, NGOs, and international stakeholders.
AFRICOM extended gratitude to the Armed Forces of Liberia and the Liberian government for their commitment in preparing to cohost the event. Preparations over the coming months will focus on ensuring the conference delivers impactful outcomes that contribute to long-term regional peace and stability.
With Liberia stepping into the spotlight as host, the 2025 WALC is poised to become a vital forum for advancing logistics excellence and security cooperation across West Africa.
