Monrovia, Liberia- Following the heat exhaustion that resulted to the disruption of January 22, 2024 presidential inauguration, Montserrado County Senator and chair on Foreign Affairs Abraham Darius Dillon has called on members of the Senate to have immediate Change in protocol to avoid reoccurrence of such embarrassing situation during the first “State of the Nation” expected to be addressed on Monday January 30 2024 by Liberia newly inaugurated President Joseph Nyuma Boakai at the Legislature .
Senator Dillion disclosed that the lack of security measures in the past days resulted into many unfortunate situation including overcrowdedness and the invasion of the Grounds of the Capitol Building by people he consider as uninvited guest. The Montserrado County Lawmaker speaking during session recommend that the protocol in charge of the President’s activities be replaced with immediate effect, holding the team accountable for the past improper planning.
Also Speaking Bomi County Senator Edwin Melvin Snow frown at the foreign ministry for disrespecting members of the Legislature by not providing seats for members of the Senate during the event.Senator Snow at the same time used the occasion to called on the would-be organizers of the next event to take into account maximum security for members of the august body.
