Monrovia, Liberia – The Ministry of Justice of Liberia has commenced a full investigation into the death of Mr. Anwar Futloo, a South African national and General Manager of the Boulevard Palace Hotel in Monrovia. Mr. Futloo passed away under mysterious circumstances on December 30, 2024, raising concerns within the Liberian and international communities.
To determine the exact cause of death, the Ministry has ordered an autopsy to be conducted on Mr. Futloo’s remains. In a press release issued today, the Ministry emphasized its commitment to thoroughly investigating the incident and prosecuting anyone found culpable.
“The Government of Liberia is deeply concerned about the death of the South African national and will do everything within its power to ensure justice is served,” the release stated.
The Ministry also called on the public and foreign residents to remain calm, avoid speculations, and trust the government’s commitment to ensuring the safety and protection of all individuals within Liberia.
This incident has sparked significant concern, particularly within the business community. The Government of Liberia extended its condolences to Mr. Futloo’s family, the South African government, and the business community, acknowledging the loss of a prominent figure in the country’s hospitality sector.
