By Congo Town, Liberia–The current Condition of TB Annex Referral Hospital located in Congo Town came under the spotlight when journalists had gone to cover a protest of health workers dwelling place to access the health facility, it was realized that Patients taken to the center for medical attention welfare are not prioritize especially their dwelling place
Some protesters who preferred not to be name told reporters that the intensive care unit (ICU) lacks mattress and others basic material that keeps patients conformable, something that poses risk to health workers and as well as the patients.
Moving furthered were delapetated bathrooms where both male and female Patients find it difficult to use. “The Annex is surrounded by less fortunate youth (Zogo) without security, therefore it’s More dangerous when the Facility goes out of current.” Some health workers disclosed.
It’s widely believe by some health workers in the area that the inability of the Hospital’s management are the roots cause of the Salary and Risk benefits drama and lack of material at the biggest TB, HIV hyphetic
meanwhile effort to get the hospital management reply regarding the unfortunate situation yielded no results.
