Gov’t Opens 2025/2026 Local Scholarships – Students Urged to Apply Before September 10

Monrovia, Liberia – The Ministry of Education has officially announced the opening of applications for the Government of Liberia’s Local Scholarship Program for the 2025/2026 academic year, beginning August 20, 2025.

‎According to the announcement, application forms will be available at the Division of Scholarships, Ministry of Education headquarters in Monrovia, as well as at the offices of County Education Officers (CEOs) in all 15 counties. Completed forms are to be submitted to the same offices.

‎The Ministry emphasized that the scholarships will be awarded strictly on merit, with applicants required to maintain a Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.0 or above to qualify and remain eligible. Current scholarship recipients who have maintained the required GPA will continue to benefit from the program.

‎Highlighting the government’s commitment to inclusivity, the Ministry strongly encouraged female students and persons with disabilities to apply, stressing that the program is designed to ensure equal access to educational opportunities for students across the country.

‎The deadline for submission of applications is September 10, 2025.
