Four Fired LDEA Airport Officers Face Court Over Cocaine Tampering Case

By: The People News Online

Four former Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency officers assigned to Roberts International Airport appeared in court Tuesday for the first time since their dismissal earlier this month.

The 13th Judicial Circuit Court in Margibi County heard the initial proceedings against Joe Logan, former RIA Commander; Abdullai Sheriff, former Chief of Operations; Lovetee Flowers, former Deputy Chief of Operations; and Menkpapuo Duo, an operative. The LDEA dismissed all four on May 5, 2026 and turned them over to the Ministry of Justice for prosecution.

Their dismissal followed an internal investigation by the LDEA Board of Internal Inquiry and Professional Standards Division. The probe focused on allegations that the officers tampered with cocaine seized from defendant Quita Dolo on July 12, 2025. Dolo is currently standing trial on drug trafficking charges.

The LDEA said it enforces a zero-tolerance policy on corruption and misconduct, adding that no officer is above the law. The agency pledged full cooperation with the Ministry of Justice as the case moves forward and confirmed it will continue monitoring the prosecution.

The court appearance marks the start of criminal proceedings against the four ex-officers.
