The confirmation hearing for Foreign Minister Designate Sara Beyslow Nyanti was hastily rescheduled by the Liberian Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs on Thursday to this Monday, February 5.
The Senate committee stated that security concerns were the cause of the postponement through Senator Darius Dillon, the committee’s chairman.
Our reporter claims that when the chair of the committee abruptly announced the postponement, the Senate Chamber was crowded with various dignitaries, including the nominee who was seated waiting for the confirmation to begin.
