Monrovia, Liberia– The Acting EPA boss said his determination to conduct a comprehensive audit is triggered by a recommendation from former National Elections Commission chairperson James Flomoyan and his team under the supervision of Dr.Louise Kpoto who led the transition team at the Environmental protection Agency.
Making the Pronouncement during his official taking over ceremony at the institution office in Sinkor recently, Dr. Urey Yarkpawolo maintained that EPA is a regulatory institution and as such should function with Integrity.
He stressed the importance of employees exhibiting high level of integrity thereby vowing to employ mechanism that will ensure proper accountability and environmental dependence.
The acting EPA’s boss at the same time vowed to set up a committee to probe controversies leading to the dismissal of some employees of the institution by the former administration of Prof. Wilson Tarpeh.
He lamented further that circumstances leading to the dismissal of the employees if established will be acted upon as findings and recommendations to ensure fairness and transparency.
The former Liberia People’s Party Vice Presidential Candidate, however promised to make the EPA more vibrant , and enforce the ESIA guideline as well as improve revenue generation capacities.
Meanwhile, acting Executive Director Dr. Emmanuel K. Urey Yarkpawolo extolled Prof.Wilson Tarpeh and team for the ongoing international environmental conference that is taking place in Monrovia.
