Deputy Speaker J. Fonati Koffa gets commitments from 42 lawmakers affirming his 55th legislature Speakership

Monrovia, Liberia- To designate Cllr. Fonati Koffa speaker of the 55th legislature, 42 legislators endorsed the “Paris Commitment” yesterday.

The resolution which was signed on Wednesday December 6, 2023 affirms that the Lawmaker who participated in the signing ceremony have resolved to
declare Representative J. Fonati Koffa as their prefer candidates for the position of Speaker of the House of Representatives.

The Representatives through the signed resolution called on their colleagues to follow the speaker bid of the Grand Kru district two CDC representative which will serve as share commitment to Fostering effective Leadership within the 55the legislature.

Lawmakers who affix their signature to the declaration includes
James M. Kolleh of district 2 Bong County (PUP),
Josiah Melvin Cole district 3 Bong County (CDC),
Moima Briggs Mensah District 6, Bong County (IND),
Eugene J.M. Kollie, district 5 Bong County (CDC).
Gizzie K. Kollince district 4, Lofa (UP).
Thomas P. Fallah, District 1, Lofa (CDC).
Anthony Williams, district 2 Maryland (CPP).
Luther S. Collins, district 2, Gbarpolu (IND).
amongst many others.

The race for the speakership in The House of Representative for the 55th legislature is in progress with names of interested candidates such as Unity Party Richard Nagbe Koon of Montserrado district 11, Musa Hassan Bility of Nimba district 7 as well as Deputy Speaker J. Fonati Koffa of district two Grand Kru County.
