Bong County–The leadership of the Bong Legislative Caucus has described as a mere bluff, the recent resignation of District #3 Representative, Josiah Marvin Cole, from the caucus.
Rep. Cole on Tuesday, February 27, 2024 announced his resignation from the county’s Legislative Caucus, attributing his actions to Sen. Moye.
The Bong County District #3 Lawmaker accused Sen. Moye of witch-hunting him on grounds that Sen. Moye sees him (Rep. Cole) as a serious political competitor.
But addressing the media just 24-hours following Rep. Cole’s resignation, the Chairman of the Caucus, Sen. Prince Moye said the District #3 Lawmaker’s action is a scared tactic intended to buy public sentiment.
Sen. Moye noted that the caucus is in no way perturbed by the resignation of Rep. Cole, stating that the caucus remains even firm and solid without Rep. Cole.
The Bong County Senator disclosed that Rep. Cole feels frightened by the call of students of the Bong County Technical College for the conduct of an audit over the appropriation of US 900k allotted to the College by the CDC government.
He allged that Rep. Cole may have been involved in the misappropriation of the money owing to the fact that he, Rep. Cole served on the board of the college by then.
Sen. Moye assured students and citizens of Bong County that the caucus will ensure the conduct of a comprehensive audit at the BCTC in order to bring those culpable to book.
The Bong caucus Chair also used the medium to deny claims by Rep. Marvin Cole, accusing him of having a hand in the misappropriation of US 7M intended for the College during the Ellen Johnson Sirleaf regime.
Sen. Moye trashed the allegation and vowed to resign his position as Senator, if an Rep. Cole provides a peace of audit report indicting him, Sen. Moye, of misappropriating US 7M dollars.
