Boakai’s Government Accused of Neglecting Former VP Taylor: “I Was Left Stranded After Inauguration”

Monrovia, Liberia – Former Vice President Jewel Howard Taylor has revealed that she has been denied all benefits since leaving office by the current administration.

Speaking on Spoon Talk over the weekend, former VP Taylor stated that despite repeatedly contacting relevant government authorities to request her rightful entitlements, all efforts have proven fruitless.

“I waited under a tree at the Executive Mansion for about forty-five minutes after the inauguration before going home,” she recounted.

“I handed over my official vehicle to the current Vice President and expected the transitional team to provide transportation for me as part of the handover process—but that did not happen,” she added.

The former Vice President described the situation as unfair and embarrassing, explaining that she eventually had to arrange a private vehicle to take her home.

She also used the occasion to urge the government to fulfill its obligations by providing all her due benefits—including a vehicle, security, and any financial entitlements.
