Bed Time Story: Unity Party Clarifies NAYMOTE Report on President Elect Boakai’s 2023 Campaign Promises

Monrovia, Liberia– Following Naymote recent report outlining Ninety three (93) promises made by the incoming ruling Unity Party during the 2023 Presidential and Legislative Elections period, The Party through its Secretary has issued a rejoinder noting that the “comprehensive report on the Unity Party’s campaign promises” contradicts itself.

According to the UP, despite the many claims of Promises, the institutions failed to indicate the occasion on which the commitments were delivered such as: Unity Party’s manifesto, Campaign rallies, Media engagements or Public Statement.

The Communication furthered that the report has many contradiction including a specific claim that “the Party has Fifty Three (53) promises under Pillar One of the AREST agenda” instead there are nine commitments which cut across the following sub-sectors: Improve Economic and Financial Governance to Spur Economic Growth and Development (3 commitments), Promote Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Development to Support Wealth Creation (2 commitments), Promote Sustainable Job Creation and Ensure Job Security (1 commitment), Improve Commerce and Industry to Support Wealth Creation (1 commitment), Develop Economic Infrastructures to Support Growth (2 commitments), Improve Mineral and Natural Resource Management.

The party at the same time urged Nymote to ratify the their publication as well as reaching out to the UP authority so as to get the fact.

Naymote Partners for Democratic Development is a Non Governmental organizations commitment to enhancing transparency and accountability in Liberia governance.
