Bed Time: Bong Senator–Elect Johnny Kpehe Launches SOS call for Totota Tanker Explosion Victims

Monrovia, Liberia- Bong County newly certificated senator Johnny Kpehe has launched an SOS Call seeking financial assistance for victims from the recent Tanker Explosion in Totota, Salala district.

According to him, the incident is a national disaster which should claim the attention of every Liberian as well as to contribute in addressing the hospital bills of the Victims. Addressing family members of the December 26, 2023 Tanker Explosion incident at the ELWA hospital in Paynesville the elected Bong leader lamented that the victims are not only citizens of Bong county but the entire country. He further lauded the Health Minister and authorities of the hospitals for their role played in the situation adding that they will meet as caucus of the County so as to acknowledge the government relative to their contributions.

At the same time was Liberia’s Health Minister Dr, Wilimena Jallah who extolled the management of the ELWA hospital for accepting the need to initially treat some of the transferred victims at the facility without financial agreement. The Minister underscored the need for more support for the survivability of the victims, referencing Fluid, Gauze, Nurish among others.
She emphasized the possibility of some Victims loosing lives due to severity of the fire burnt, something they don’t have control over as health practitioner

For here part, District Six Representative in the region, Moima Briggs Mensah frown at incumbent President George Weah and president elect Joseph Nyema Boakai for not showing up since the incident. she expressed that the two have interest only in politics, failing to understand the reality that the affected are their employers.
