Held at the EJS Ministerial Complex in Congo Town, the event brought together high-ranking government officials, development partners, and stakeholders, marking a significant milestone in Liberia’s pursuit of transparency, accountability, and good governance.
The PMCS is central to President Boakai’s ARREST agenda, which emphasizes accountability, responsiveness, and responsible governance. It establishes clear performance standards for ministries, agencies, and commissions, enabling real-time monitoring and evaluation of government operations. “We want our citizens to see a government that listens, responds, and delivers,” President Boakai reiterated, underscoring his Administration’s commitment to enhancing public trust and improving service delivery.
In addressing concerns about corruption, President Boakai assured the public that the government would maintain integrity and respond to allegations with due process. “Our approach will be vigilant and thorough, but also fair, ensuring that due process is upheld as we address any allegations of corruption,” he stated, calling for patience while emphasizing a zero-tolerance policy towards the misuse of public office.
The President also recognized the vital contributions of Liberia’s development partners, including the United Nations Development Programme, in making the PMCS a reality. He highlighted that the initiative’s success hinges on the collaborative efforts of public servants and stakeholders alike.
As Liberia embarks on this new path toward ethical governance, President Boakai urged citizens to support the initiative, stating, “Let us move forward with determination, knowing that today marks a turning point in our journey toward good governance, integrity, and accountability.”
The PMCS aims to ensure public officials are held accountable, resources are used effectively, and promises to the Liberian people are honored. The Administration calls on all citizens to embrace this new era of accountability and work together for a brighter future for Liberia.
