Former VP Boakai Gains Overwhelming Support from 300+ Auxiliary Groups, Pledges to Restore Hope and Dignity in Liberia

Monrovia, Liberia– In a powerful demonstration of support, more than three hundred auxiliary groups from Montserrado County enthusiastically endorsed the Presidential Bid of former Liberian Vice President and current standard bearer of the Unity Party, Joseph N. Boakai. The endorsement event, held at Paynesville’s Jacob Town Field over the weekend, saw the convergence of three hundred thirty-seven diverse auxiliary groups, comprising supporters, partisans, and well-wishers, all rallying behind Boakai’s presidential aspirations ahead of the pivotal October 2023 presidential and legislative elections. The petition, articulating their unwavering support, was eloquently presented by the head of All Political Groups, who cited Boakai’s decades-long commitment to public service as the driving force behind their endorsement.

The decision to back Boakai was influenced by his extensive experience as an unwavering public servant, a corruption-free record reflective of honesty and integrity, and an unshakable dedication to the transformation of Liberia. These auxiliary groups affirmed their collective aspiration to entrust Boakai with the dreams and opportunities of Liberian youth, with a resounding message: “Today we place in your hands the dreams and aspirations of all Liberian youths to create opportunities for their development.” In response, the former ruling Unity Party leader assured his supporters, members, sympathizers, and partisans that Liberia, currently facing challenges under the Weah administration, would be restored to its esteemed status as a beacon of progress in Africa.

Addressing the gathering, former Vice President Boakai called upon all well-meaning Liberians to turn out in significant numbers on October 10, 2023, to collectively unseat incumbent President Weah in the first ballot. Notably, Boakai had previously lost to soccer legend George M. Weah in a second-round showdown during the October 2017 general and legislative elections. With this renewed and formidable wave of support and his unwavering commitment to national transformation, Boakai embarks on his presidential bid with a steadfast determination to restore hope and dignity to Liberia, setting the stage for a closely watched election year.
