MONROVIA –The Anti-Robbery Unit of the Liberia National Police (LNP) says it has apprehended five suspects on Thursday, October 3, 2024, in connection with the armed robbery of a Chinese national, Joseph Xu, in Congo Town.
The spokesperson of the LNP through a Press release unveiled that the suspects—identified as Emmanuel Johnson (alias Wallace), Alfred Lablah (alias Puyol), Junior Bundor (alias Prince), Malachi Eze (alias Promise), and Leemu Tabah—are accused of breaking into Xu’s home in the early hours of September 13, where they held him and his wife at gunpoint, making off with cash and valuables.
Further investigation revealed the suspects were attempting to re-enter Xu’s property when they were caught around 12:45 AM on October 3.
The LNP seized two vehicles—a taxi and a Nissan sedan—along with burglary tools including a pin-bar and a steel cutter.
Accordingly, both vehicles are currently impounded as the investigation continues.
