Clark Atlanta University Hosts Liberian President Boakai for Cultural Immersion Event

On Thursday August 22, 2024, Clark Atlanta University had the distinct honor of welcoming President Joseph Boakai of the Republic of Liberia and his delegation. The event underscored the significance of cultural immersion programs and highlighted the collaborative efforts between the university, Planting A Seed International, and the Republic of Liberia.

The gathering showcased the transformative impact of experiential learning programs, emphasizing how Clark Atlanta University’s students gain invaluable experiences through their service in Liberia. This initiative aims to strengthen educational and cultural exchanges between the two nations.

President George French Jr., along with esteemed students, faculty, and staff, expressed deep gratitude to President Boakai and his delegation for their support. Special recognition was given to Dr. Starr Irving for her pivotal role in facilitating this event.

In his address, President Boakai spoke of the promising future of these programs. “Just as we spoke in Liberia, our vision will soon become reality. We are working together to develop an exchange program that will allow students from Liberia to further their education here in the USA,” he stated.

This collaboration marks a significant step forward in fostering international educational opportunities and deepening cross-cultural understanding.
