LNP Arrests Several Former EPS officers Over their Alleged involvement in a Protest, Resulting to Roadblocks, Terrorist Threats.

MONROVIA–As a means of demanding their reinstatement after being fired, former Executive Protection Service Agents early Thursday morning through a protest (roadblock) halted normal activities of citizens and businesses in front of the Voice of Liberia Radio station.

Amongst the arrived protesters were Andy P. Yeancy, 47, J. Frank Hope, 43, Nathaniel S. Toe, 43, and Samuel Reeves, 44, who have arrested. The others are Augustine Glealeh, 29, Anthony Mccrowrey, 39, and James Kelly, 32.

While they are being investigated, the former EPS agents are also being held in the Liberia National Police Headquarters.

Another development is that four LNP officers have been stripped of their uniforms and are under investigation by the Professional Standards Division (PSD) for their alleged involvement in a homicide that occurred early on April 17, 2024, in the 72nd settlement of Paynesville.

The LNP Administration made its judgment in response to allegations from family members that Austin Yarkpawolo, the suspect’s uncle, died as a result of excessive force employed by the arresting authorities of suspect James Boima.

The goal of the investigation is to ascertain the circumstances behind the victim’s death, with the administration of the Liberia National Police taking appropriate action as needed.
